Often when doing the work to bring in clients, the picture is of faceless, possibly hostile people.

Maybe this story will be a replacement.

I remembered recently when I watched a young cousin at a family event.

He was a preschooler with a high voice and a small lisp.

He watched his grandmother hug another cousin, who then ran away to play.

And he said “I want a hug, too.”

Grandma looked at him with a bit of a frown because she couldn’t understand him.

He looked deflated, and maybe embarrassed.

A family member seeing this said to her “He says, he wants a hug too.”

She lit up.

Looked at him and opened her arms.

His lit up and ran to her.

Sometimes the connection really is wanted on both sides, it just takes some translating.
