You know, when you put yourself out there, and get a “No” it feels like grief.
Because it is.
I went through this last week with a group I really wanted to work with.
They said no.
I went through all the stages – denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
It was really amazing to watch myself.
Happily, I knew enough to just be quiet for a while and let it all happen.
I didn’t want to feel all the feels, but I knew I had to. And that this, too, shall pass.
And it did.
When we care about our work, our hearts are vulnerable.
No way around it.
PS. It was serendipity that I made a new friend about this time.
