I worked with a client yesterday who was building back from disaster.
He had a very successful Instagram account with hundreds of thousands of followers.
Life and money were good.
Then the plug was pulled and the account was banned.
The truly loyal fans hunted my client down when he made a new one.
But the only way to build back up was (surprise) paid ads.
In other words – let’s give money to the business that pulled the plug on your business and can do it again at any time.
Seth Godin’s advice in “This is Strategy” comes to mind.
Know what game you are playing, and know the rules.
Don’t play games you can’t win.
Or in this case, don’t play game you can suddenly lose at any time.
So the client and I talked about ways of building his reach that he can own.
He’s excited about creating a podcast, and he feels safe in the Patreon world.
Sometimes we play a losing game because we think it is our only option.
If you feel that way about some part of your business, let’s talk.
