A dark background on a business card means that I can’t write notes on how to follow-up with you.

Ditto for glossy paper.

If you plan to sell to anyone over 40, be kind and use high contrast dark print on a light or white background.

When you are designing your card online, step far away from the screen and squint.

Creative and functional is great. But if you have to choose, choose functional, please.
