I was listening to a young artist talk about all his art forms and then I heard it:

“But of course you need a website and pictures to sell clothes.”

Nope.

I told him the internet is a huge market place, that’s true. But he lives in a big, arty city.

He should be taking samples of his work to high end boutiques and speaking with the owners.

He said he did sell at a vintage store, but the prices people there were willing to pay hardly covered materials.

I told him that he already knew what to do, he was just doing it in the wrong place.

High end boutiques, and listen to them when they tell you what they can sell.

They know their market.

He told me that he had gotten passive after spending a lot of money on the website and it not turning into business.

But now he knows what to do next, and he’s going to do it.
